About the item: Graded NM/Mint+! Signed by hand by legendary comic creator Sal Buscema (the cover and interior artist of this issue)., this trading card is JSA authenticated and certified through CGC with a card grade of 8.5. It is from the Marvel First Issue Covers trading card set released in 1984. Fresh from CGC, it will be shipped with the utmost care. About the Artist: Sal Buscema (b. 1936) is a veteran comic book artist whose dynamic storytelling and bold, expressive linework made him one of Marvel?s most dependable and recognizable illustrators during the Bronze Age of comics. The younger brother of fellow legendary artist John Buscema, Sal began his career in the mid-1960s at Marvel, initially working as an inker before quickly establishing himself as a penciler. Over the decades, he became known for long, influential runs on titles such as The Incredible Hulk, The Defenders, Captain America, and The Spectacular Spider-Man, often working with top writers like Steve Englehart, J.M. DeMatteis, and Bill Mantlo. Particularly celebrated is his decade-long stint on The Incredible Hulk, where his energetic fight scenes and emotional character work helped define the tone of the series. Equally adept at pencils and inks, Buscema eventually focused more on inking in the latter part of his career, contributing to dozens of titles well into the 2000s. His distinct style, tireless work ethic, and sheer volume of output have made him one of Marvel?s most prolific and beloved artists. In recognition of his contributions to the medium, Buscema was inducted into the Will Eisner Comic Book Hall of Fame in 2020.
