Canesten Gyn 6 x 100mg vaginal tablets with applicator for 6 days The medicine is a broad-spectrum antifungal medicine used to treat gynecological vaginitis caused by fungal micro-organisms, fungi and yeasts (especially Candida). In addition, it acts against vaginal infections caused by gram-positive microbes (especially streptococci, staphylococci and Gardnerella vaginalis) and gram-negative microbes (Bacteroides). It is used for the following symptoms of candidiasis: vaginal discharge caused by infection (whitish, lumpy, odorless), vaginitis caused by pathogenic fungi or yeast (manifested by itching, burning, redness, swelling and pain in the vagina). On the doctor's recommendation, the medicine is also used to heal the birth canals in the last 4-6 weeks of pregnancy. Dosage and dosing schedules Adults and children from 12 years: 1 tablet every evening for 6 consecutive days. If necessary, the treatment can be repeated. If symptoms persist for more than 7 days or if symptoms return within 2 months, a doctor should be consulted. Way of use The vaginal tablet should be inserted as deep as possible into the vagina the evening before bed, either using an applicator or with your finger after washing your hands. The best position to insert the tablet is in a supine position with the limbs slightly raised. If the vaginal tablets do not dissolve completely overnight, the use of a vaginal cream should be considered. Eye contact should be avoided. Do not swallow the tablets.
