IT'S IN EXCELLENT CONDITION: SOFT, SUPPLE, SILKY, SHINY, NO SHEDDING. The historic Holt Renfrew Co. is renowned for attracting the best high end designers making the finest quality furs in the world! In 1886, Holt Renfrew was appointed as the furrier to THE QUEEN OF ENGLAND by Queen Victoria herself! Holt Renfrew Co. has since served FIVE GENERATIONS OF BRITISH ROYALTY, providing them with fine furs like the one in this listing. Since the 1930?s, Holt Renfrew has developed exclusive relationships with some of the world’s TOP fashion designers.In 1947, Holt Renfrew began a relationship with Christian Dior and his “New Look” that continues to this day. Christian Dior is considered one of the most influential fashion designers in the world in since he introduced his premiere line 1947. Christian Dior appeared on the cover of Time dated March 4, 1957. Dior died in 1957. Since this is a "Christian Dior Original" (designed by Christian Dior himself) vs. "House of Dior" (which includes other designers working for Dior), this jacket may pre-date 1957. Given it's excellent condition, it was probably worn very little kept in cold storage for most of its life. THIS MINK JACKET IS ONE OF THE EXCLUSIVE CHRISTIAN DIOR ORIGINALS DESIGNED FOR AND MADE BY HOLT RENFREW CO. LIMITED. The style is TIMELESS CLASSIC. The bodice slightly flares out like a slight swing style, making for a comfortable fit. The sleeves are classic, straight roomy. The Collar is a wing style, much like a shawl collar, but more stylish with pointed top tips. The lining is in great condition on the right lining panel is a small embroidered name, "Jeanette", which could probably be removed. The fur materials construction are VERY HIGH QUALITY, as you'd expect from Christian Dior Holt Renfrew. MEASUREMENTS: (approximate) NO SIZE TAG that I found. - 44" armpit to armpit (22" across laid flat with top front hook eye closure fastened shut) - 23" from shoulder seam to bottom hem - 19" sleeve length from shoulder seam The tag says, "CHRISTIAN DIOR ORIGINAL exclusively designed for and made by HOLT RENFREW CO." Holt Renfrew is a chain of high-end Canadian department stores specializing in an array of luxury brands and designer boutiques. Often compared to Barneys[2] and Saks Fifth Avenue[3] in the United States, I've never worn this except to model it for photos. I'm a collector by trade.
