Dolphin Porpoise Brooch Pin Earrings Set Sterling Silver NWF Airess National Wildlife Federation Vintage Figural Ocean Sea Life Fish Mammal Animal Mammal Conservation Leaping Jumping Swimming Marine Nautical Nature Theme Precious Metals DS2-99 Designer Signed Pierced Ears Studs This is a lovely brooch and earring set of Dolphins made by Airess. I believe that the company made this set for the National Wildlife Federation during the late 1990s, but I can’t be sure of the dates or that the set was actually sold by NWF. Airess is a Rhode Island jewelry company that began using the hallmark of Airess in 1994 and discontinued the hallmark use in 2007. They were known for their puffed or puffy jewelry. The brooch measures approximately 2 inches long and the earrings are 1 inch long. The pin is signed on the back "Airess 925" with a swirl design above the word. It comes in a pouch with National Wildlife on the front of the black felt. Also included is the paperwork that tells the Wildlife Profile of the dolphins. The total weight of the brooch and the earrings is .55 ounces on my postage scale, which converts to 15.59 grams. This set is in excellent vintage condition as you can see by the enlarged photographs. I have not polished it, as many people prefer the patina that forms with age. I will leave any polishing up to you; it is quite shiny as it is. The clasp on the back is nice and secure. The paper leaflet has been folded and is wrinkled. Please look at the photos as they are part of the description and show the details better than I can describe. This would be perfect for any Dolphin lover. It will be great to wear on your next cruise or to a beach party or Luau. It has a very tropical and nautical feel. It will be a nice addition to your collection of animal figural jewelry.
