This beautiful clock is a reproduction produced by Franklin Mint in the late 1980?s. This clock is modeled after the Sevres Lyre clock, which was originally produced in France in the 18th and 19th centuries. King Louis XVI loved the Lyre clock and purchased two for his collection. The complete Franklin Mint collection in this series consisted of 12 different miniature clocks in various materials. Thee following clocks were in the series: English Lantern Clock, Gothic Steeple Clock, Palladian Mantel Clock, Chinoiserie Bracket Clock, Empire Carriage Clock, Louis XV Clock, Colonial Grandfather Clock, Louis V Cartel Clock, French Rococo Clock, Victorian Mantel Clock, Federal Banjo Clock, Federal Shelf Clock.
