Descripción del Artículo

This is for a rare set of original production Neo sunglasses made very briefly by the original licensed manufacturer 3NDY. 3NDY is a top German eyewear company with official European CE certification. 3NDY made Neo's rimless sunglasses under license where they were first sold commercially worldwide through the closed website thisisthematrix.de. Later on other companies were only authorized to put the Warner Bros. branding on whatever they made, but they couldn't make the design. This is why any officially licensed Neo sunglasses you see today have frames/rims. To go back in time to view 3NDY's original run of Neo sunglasses go to "The Wayback Machine" on the internet and then type in the site thisisthematrix.de and then select a day in the year 2000. Yes there is a looking glass that let's you see back through the Matrix. When the sunglasses sold out the studio closed the site and didn't renew the contract. 3NDY kept making them to sell in stores but they had to stop because the license was only to manufacture them, not sell them. 3NDY re-branded the temples on about 100 Neo sunglasses as "Green Fly"(it's right there on the website) and that was the end of the last quality run of Neo's sunglasses. Mass production versions with full frames/rims came out later on. 3NDY made these sunglasses impossibly light. The lenses are polycarbonate Optyl(Carrera of Austria back then) and the frame is titanium. These weigh in at just under 0.5 ounces. My scale says 0.4 oz. Crazy. When you put these on you can tell they are very special. Even the hinges are spring loaded so the temples don't flop around. If they are open they stay open and if they are closed they stay closed. There aren't any tiny philips head screws like you find on basic sunglasses with full frames. To contain this mechanism the hinges flare into a barrel shape and then taper down again. 20+ years later I still haven't seen anything like these. A note about condition, these are new but the lenses have ultra fine marks at the mounting points. To maintain the rimless design the hardware is attached directly to the lenses. Look very closely at the fourth photo. This is only visible against a light colored background viewed at a certain angle with the right lighting. It has no effect on the overall looks or function. Other licensed sunglasses only have rights to the name, not the design, which is why all of those have rims. Only 3NDY was licensed to make the actual design. Look at the nose-bridge of these including the commercially released image and then look at stills of Neo. They are an exact match yet other "licensed" versions don't even get this right. Neo's sunglasses also don't have rims on them. Period. They are rimless and frameless. If there is one iconic design from The Matrix it was Neo's rimless sunglasses. It's what made you look twice, like the woman in the red dress. Knock, knock Neo. Epic Free shipping in the U.S. If there's a problem let me know and I'll work with you. My work keeps me away often so to be safe, handling time to get this shipped out is 1 week. SHIPPING ADDRESS: I can only send your item to the registered shipping address at time of payment.
