These handmade copper earrings are rectangles with wire wrapped vertical rows of blue crystal glass beads. Medium gauge wire is carefully formed into rectangles and hammered by hand to strengthen. Fine gauge wire is used to string rows of blue beads vertically along the rectangular frame. Each row of beads is a unique shade of blue and different height such that the beads may move freely up and down the row like an abacus.The ear wires are also handmade out of copper wire. These earrings have a very unique and artistic look sure to get you noticed. The design resembles an abacus (ancient calculator) or bar graph and so makes an excellent gift for a math lover. The design also resembles a volume meter and would appeal to a music lover. Drop length is ~1 1/2” from the piercing and ~1/2” wide. It is not treated with a lacquer or wax. Copper naturally oxidizes over time and develops a patina. Some people love that look and some prefer to keep it shiny. Slow the oxidization process by wiping your copper jewelry with a soft clean cloth before and after each use to keep it clean. You can easily clean oxidized copper jewelry and return it to bright and shiny by soaking it in a mixture of lemon juice and salt for 30-60 seconds, rinse with water, and dry. Try it with a penny.
