Antique Large Portrait of Poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, circa 1890s. Mounted on heavyweight paperboard. Measures approximately 12 x 17 including mount. Condition: This is an original lithograph, not a copy or reproduction. It has some scuffs and soiling, edge and corner wear, and shows evidence of having been framed. This is a relatively rare studio pose by Longfellow, and there is no text or handwritten identification. We therefore went in search of positive verification and found it on the pages of the February, 1907 issue of Munsey Magazine which is displayed in our third listing description image and labeled "For Reference Only." The magazine is not included with the purchase of the portrait. Comments: Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (February 27, 1807 - March 24, 1882) was an American poet and educator. He was born here in Portland, Maine where this portrait was found on the upstairs floor of an obscure antique store.
