Description Large Native American Zia Polychrome Pottery Jar Pot Three Birds Bear Lid Signed This mid-century Zia polychrome pottery jar has three Zia birds separated by capped feathers. The Zia bird is a large-eyed bird with wings upraised and a two- or three-pronged tail. Each bird on this jar is a different color, orange, white, or blue. There are two more birds on the lid, which has a bear handle. The inside of the jar and the lid are glazed. Measures approximately 8.5" dia x 7" high without lid and 12" with lid. Signed; see picture for artist's signature. This was a Native American pow-wow / trade show purchase circa 1960s in New Mexico. Condition: Very good vintage condition with no visible damage other than that the bear on the lid has been glued back on. There is no other evidence of cracks, chips, or repairs in the pottery itself. See pictures.
