Starting at the time of purchase, it will be covered by a warranty against hardware failures for 1 year. The battery is brand new and it has been tested last for at least 2 hours of continuous use at the time this laptop was tested. Batteries degrade over time and they are not covered under the warranty. The BIOS battery has been replaced and fresh thermal paste has been applied to the CPU. The original battery is included with this laptop and had a tested runtime of two continuous hours. The keyboard on this laptop may not be backlit, but there's a little light you can turn on near the webcam that shines down and illuminates the keyboard. It's quite fancy.
