This is for a rare genuine Mercedes hubcap paint stencil set in excellent condition. These were likely used once for clear coat. This includes the all-metal Star stencil with the metal loop handle and the outer ring for all 14" wheel hubcaps. Most all Mercedes of this era ran for 14" wheels. If you don't see the larger 15" wheels with hubcaps(very hard to find anyway) very often then this set is all you need. Only authorized paint shops and Mercedes dealers had these paint stencils. While new cars came with hubcaps that matched the body color, replacement hubcaps arrived bare and were then painted by the dealer according to your car's paint code. The great part about these OE stencils is they instantly mask off the hubcap for painting. There is also no taping and cutting with a razor blade. This set is a major time saver. Do-overs are also effortless compared to re-taping the entire cap for each attempt. You can also let it dry and hit it later with a proper clear coat which most people skip because of the masking process. You could also loan/barter these if you know other W123 owners or offer a service. The other advantage is the OEM look of the paint work on Mercedes hubcaps. The paint on their hubcaps has a certain soft edge that cannot be reproduced by other methods. The copies you find of the Star stencil are very lightweight plastic which can move around while spraying.
