Descripción del Artículo

Miranda Auto Sensorex EE 35mm Film SLR Camera w/ 50mm 1.8 Lens (1971) – Black Overview: Introduced in 1971, the Miranda Auto Sensorex EE marked a turning point in Miranda’s camera development. It retained the rugged build and versatility of the Sensorex but added aperture-priority automatic exposure via the new “E” series lenses. With dual metering options, interchangeable prisms, and support for multiple lens mounts, the Sensorex EE represented one of the most innovative Miranda SLRs of the 1970s. Key Features: EE Coupling System: Fully linked aperture-priority auto exposure with “E” lenses (marked with a red “E”). EE Override: Allows manual shutter control outside the meter’s range. Dual Metering Modes: TTL CdS cells (etched into the reflex mirror) provide average or spot metering. Interchangeable Viewfinders: New “VFE” prisms designed specifically for the EE (not compatible with earlier Sensorex finders). Lens Compatibility: Dual Miranda bayonet + 44mm screw mount; adapters available for Nikon F, Exakta/Topcon, Praktica, Contax, and Leica screw mount. Lens Lineup: EE lenses ranged from 25mm wide-angle to 200mm telephoto, plus a 50mm f/2.8 macro. Specifications: Type: 35mm manual focus SLR Exposure: Aperture-priority AE with EE lenses, manual override available Metering: TTL CdS, average or spot selectable Film Speed: ISO 25–1600 Shutter: 1s – 1/1000s + Bulb, focal-plane Battery: 1x PX675 1.35v mercury (Mallory or equivalent) Lens Mount: Miranda bayonet + 44mm screw thread Film Advance: Lever-operated, 180 stroke, automatic reset counter Viewfinder: Interchangeable “VFE” prism finders, Fresnel focusing screen with split-image Body Finish: Black metal Historical Notes: The “E” lens series added an extra coupling pin for auto-exposure; these lenses are not fully backward-compatible with earlier Sensorex bodies. The Sensorex II and later DX bodies, while manual, retained the EE mount for cross-compatibility. The EE series was among Miranda’s last professional-grade innovations before the brand’s decline in the late 1970s.
