Originally designed for the needs of sensitive and painful burn wounds, PolyMem dressings are thin polyurethane foam membrane dressings containing a non-toxic cleanser (F68 Surfactant) and a moisturiser (glycerol), with a semi-permeable film backing. The addition of a starch co-polymer within the foam helps bind moisture and concentrate growth factors produced by the body. PolyMem dressings are non-adherent and help to cleanse the wound whilst in place to minimise procedural pain and trauma when dressings are changed. The unique properties of a PolyMem dressing also help to reduce inflammation, promoting comfort and pain reduction while the dressing is worn.
