Descripción del Artículo

Imported during the 1930's by the Hayashiya Co. of Philadelphia and upon outbreak of war stored in the basement along with anything else Japanese, not to see the light of day for another fifty years. This was originally in a thin cardboard box which was all but completely eaten by insects however I managed to save the manufacturer sticker which is shown for reference but not, repeat not included. I doubt very many made it to America, and you wonder if any that were on the West Coast survived, think about it. Not an official military patch but typically sewn into the scarves, headbands and other ceremonial and remembrance items given to Japanese service men as well as kimonos. Features the Imperial style four claw dragon of Japan. It is NOS ("New, Old Stock") however has several mild wrinkles, easily ironed out but I haven't. Several small discolorations probably left there from aging cardboard or paper. All told though pretty decent and pretty rare, most of them made in the first place probably got used. "Hagi" means patch in Japanese.
