This yarn winder is full of character from the groves on both sides of the solid main board to the handles that show alot of wear. The grooves are to guide yarn, rope or string in straight rows as you loop around the top and the bottom. The handles spin around the metal bar that juts out from the sides of the main board. This yarn winder measures 15" tall x 15" wide. The handles measure 4" each. Groves to groves measure 6 5/8" long. The hole on the side of the main board is to push the end of the yarn, rope or string through so as to find the beginning to unwind.
