Descripción del Artículo

Bolt Resistant Heirloom Beet Variety -Crosby's Egyptian Beet Seeds Crosby's Egyptian flat beet is a market variety developed in the 19th century and still favored by farmers and market gardeners today. It is a superior market strain selected by Josiah Crosby, one of Boston?s most notable market farmers. He refined the German import for his marketing needs. He selected for a super flat saucer shape and smoother skin, as these uniform and decidedly pretty roots were more enticing for market sales. Crosby?s Egyptian beet debuted in the 1888 edition of J.H. Gregory?s catalog; it was praised for its exceptional early maturity and superior market quality. The beet is known for its sweet and tender flesh, making it a favorite for both raw and cooked applications. It has a distinct earthy flavor with a hint of sweetness, making it perfect for salads, pickling, roasting, and even juicing. 55 Days Days to Germination:10 to 12 days Days to Maturity: 50 to 60 days How to Plant Beets We prefer to sow beets directly in the garden so that we don?t have to disturb their roots, though beets?unlike many root crops?do generally tolerate being transplanted while still young. However, since they are cold tolerant, beets typically have no trouble being started outdoors. Sow seeds oe-inch deep and 1 to 2 inches apart in rows that are about 1 foot apart. After sowing, cover the seeds with a thin layer of soil. Each wrinkled beet ?seed? may be actually a cluster of 2 to 4 seeds, so you will need to thin the young plants to 3 to 4 inches apart once the greens get to be about 4 inches tall. This allows their roots to grow to their proper size. Tip: When thinning, don?t pull up the plants, as you may accidentally disturb the roots of the beets you want to keep. Instead, just snip off the greens (and eat them). Make sure soil remains moist for optimal germination. Soak seeds for 24 hours prior to planting to speed up germination. =s=s=s=s=s=s=s=s=s=s=s=s=s=s=s=s=s=s=s=s=s=s=s=s==s=s Free shipping to Canada- and USA Selected seeds only Add this item to your cart and keep shopping-- at https://www.ebay.ca/usr/okiger-2i55iwk =s=s=s=s=s=s=s=s=s=s=s=s=s=s=s=s=s=s=s=s=s=s=s=s==s=s=s=s=s=s=s= Shipping of Seeds and Cuttings: Orders are shipped via Canada Post Mail unless otherwise specified. Some items are shipped without tracking to keep costs low. This is the most economical option. Canada Post is incredibly reliable, but can be slow. If you require tracking or a faster delivery please message before ordering. We try to ship any live plants on MONDAYS or TUESDAYS as a precautionary measure to avoid delays over the weekend and ensure the viability of live plant orders. Weather may be a contributing factor in the processing of our orders and will occasionally cause some delay. We will ship seeds anywhere in the world, however, please make sure you check with your country's customs office to be sure that they are allowed in. We will not be held responsible for orders held, confiscated and/or destroyed by customs. Please note this and make sure you understand before you buy it.
