Descripción del Artículo

World's Hottest Pepper- Carolina Reaper Seeds The Carolina Reaper is a cultivar of the Capsicum chinense plant. Developed by US breeder Ed Currie, the pepper is red and gnarled, with a bumpy texture and small pointed tail. In 2013, Guinness World Records declared it the hottest chili pepper in the world, surpassing the previous record holder, the Trinidad Scorpion "Butch T". The crossbreed is between a "really nastily hot" La Soufriere pepper from the Caribbean island of Saint Vincent and a Naga Viper pepper from Pakistan. It is named 'Reaper' due to the shape of its tail. TASTE: Typically superhots have chemical undertones, as if you can actually taste the capsaicin. The Carolina Reaper has a sweet and fruity flavor, right before the heat kicks in. The Puckerbutt Pepper Company wants their peppers to not only challenge the taste buds but to also enhance the flavor of food. There?s a lot more flavor to the Carolina Reaper then you?ll find in most extremely hot peppers. With that being said, this still is an extremely hot pepper. Eating it raw is not really advised. APPEARANCE AND DESCRIPTION The Carolina Reaper is a smaller pod, ranging from 1 to 2 inches wide (2.5 ? 5 cm) and 2 to 3 inches (5 ? 7.6 cm) long. The pods mature to a vibrant red color. The skin tends to sport a bumpy texture, though some can have a smoother texture. One distinctive feature is a typical scorpion-like tail, much like that of a scorpion pepper. The Carolina Reaper pepper is known for its distinctive, wrinkled texture, scorpion-like tail, and intense heat. Descriptions of the three colors?red, gold, and yellow?include: ### **Red Carolina Reaper** - **Appearance:** The classic variety, with a bright, vibrant red color and a glossy sheen. Its heavily wrinkled skin and characteristic stinger-like tail give it a fierce look. - **Heat Level:** Known for being one of the hottest peppers in the world, with an average Scoville rating of 1,641,183 SHU, and peaks reaching over 2,200,000 SHU. - **Flavor:** Despite the extreme heat, it has a sweet, fruity, almost citrus-like undertone. ### **Gold Carolina Reaper** - **Appearance:** Similar in shape to the red version, the gold variant has a more subtle, golden-orange hue with the same bumpy, wrinkled skin and pointed tail. - **Heat Level:** Comparable to the red variety in terms of heat, though some growers report it as being slightly milder. - **Flavor:** A sweet and tropical flavor profile, with slightly enhanced fruitiness compared to the red Reaper. ### **Yellow Carolina Reaper** - **Appearance:** The yellow variety has a lighter, more lemon-yellow color. The shape and texture remain similar, with deep wrinkles and the distinct scorpion-like tail. - **Heat Level:** Slightly less hot than the red Carolina Reaper but still one of the hottest peppers available. - **Flavor:** The yellow version has a citrusy, almost lemony taste, with a pronounced sweetness that balances its intense heat. All three color variations maintain the signature Reaper look but offer subtle differences in flavor and heat intensity. =s=s=s=s=s=s=s=s=s=s=s=s=s=s=s=s=s=s=s=s=s=s=s=s==s=s=s=s=s=s=s= Seed Shipping: Flat Rate Low Shipping fee- no matter how many seeds you order!
