This is an unusual piece of Torquay Pottery in the Motto Ware Line - referred to as a Puzzle Jug - Made in England. It measures approx 5" tall and the motto reads "Within this jug there is good liquor - Tis fit for person or for vicar - But how to drink and not to spill - will try the utmost of your skill" The "puzzle" refers to the holes around the top which make it impossible not to spill.
