Descripción del Artículo

Triceratops Schleich Dinosaur Scale Model Schleich Realistic Triceratops is museum quality replica, hand painted, authenticated model by the paleontologists of the Museum of Natural History. Triceratops is a great toy gift for dinosaur enthusiasts and serious collectors. Triceratops Measures 9.5 inch W 3.5 inch D 4.13 inch H (24 cm x 9 cm x 10 cm) Suggested age 3+ Hand-Painted and phthalate free Material: Durable synthetic material Triceratops is a genus of herbivorous ceratopsid dinosaur that first appeared during the late Maastrichtian stage of the late Cretaceous period, about 68 million years ago (Mya) in what is now North America. It is one of the last known non-avian dinosaur genera, and became extinct in the Cretaceous–Paleogene extinction event 66 million years ago. Triceratops as a herbivore, it was hunted by Tyrannosaurus Rex. The front part of its jaw was shaped like a parrot's beak which it used to tear apart the plants it ate. The Triceratops had three horns made of keratin, the same protein fingernails and hair are made of. The horns over its eyes were nearly a metre long. Because its head weighed as much as a small car and made up almost one third of its body, it also had a very heavy tail to keep its ten metre long body in balance.
