The intense heat and energy released fused sand, creating trinitite. The test detonated a plutonium bomb in New Mexico’s Jornada del Muerto desert, vaporizing the sand. The molten sand cooled and solidified, resulting in greenish glass with a translucent or semi-transparent texture.
