Here is a new twist to an old time 1960's and 70's kitchen favorite that will be a conversation starter in any room. This keepsake clock was never originally made in red by the General Electric Telechron company, but I decided to change that by reimagining it with a vibrant, playful twist. After discovering this clock alongside several others in disrepair, I chose to breathe fresh life into it with a fun new color. I think you'll agree this retro clock has now been given a fresh brilliant look. This clock, like many others that are 65 years old, had a noisy electric motor that hummed continuously and required an ugly electric cord to extend to a faraway outlet which limited its options for placement. It now can be placed virtually anywhere you like. A new continuous sweep quartz battery movement has been fitted to it that has no ticking sounds. There is an opening on the back for the time adjustment knob and a battery change. I've installed a ribbon behind the battery so with just a slight tug the battery will pop out. Of course, if you like, the back panel can be easily removed by way of two small screws. The frame of the clock is in very good condition as are the clock face and the clear crystal. The original hour and minute hands, as well as the brass-colored time adjustment knob (now just for show) have all remained, so this timepiece looks and acts just like the original. The clock measures 10" wide x 10" high x 2 1/2" deep. This classic retro clock would be a meaningful gift for anyone who fondly remembers having one in their childhood kitchen. It brings a nostalgic charm of the 1950s, '60s, and '70s to any space. This clock is from a non-smoking environment. Shipping includes insurance.
