This piece has wonderful facial expression, a curled zodiac posture, and finely carved details around the ears, paws, and tail. The bead carries a well-defined two-kanji artisan signature and displays beautiful natural patina typical of true mid-century beads. Made using traditional multi-piece laminated construction, a hallmark of Japanese ojime workshops of this period. The Rabbit is a popular zodiac subject associated with luck, creativity, and harmony ? and this example has strong presence, clear carving lines, and excellent age character.
