Authentic vintage Japanese wagasa umbrella (traditional oil-paper parasol) featuring a bold bullseye-style concentric ring pattern in rich, earthy tones. Constructed with bamboo ribs, an oiled washi paper canopy, and a spiral-wrapped plastic grip handle with a chrome endcap. The umbrella opens fully and locks into place with smooth mechanical action. Likely made in Gifu, Japan, during the mid-20th century, this parasol was crafted using the same traditional techniques as ceremonial wagasa, adapted for decorative or light theatrical use. Signs of age include light paper crinkling, a few small tears (pics), and mild tackiness from the aged oil finish ? all typical of vintage oil-paper umbrellas. A versatile display piece that works beautifully on its own or as a coordinating companion to the kabuki design parasol.
