DETAILS This is a replacement plug for the 24-pin plug found on the back of many GM radios. Wiring pigtails of approximately 6 inches are attached. Identification of wires on the vehicle side, as well as pin location of those wires in the plug, will be up to you. (See more info in ADDITIONAL INFO below.) This would be used if your original plug was cut off and you are trying to install the correct factory radio in the vehicle. This was the only 24-pin plug offered by GM, so if you've counted 24 pins on your main connector, this is the one you need. (They sometimes used a second, 12-pin plug for rear seat audio, CD changer, On-Star, XM radio, DVD, etc. If you don't have any options that require it, you do not need it, so you can save some money buying from this listing that does not include it. This style of plug was used on most Class 2 computer-integrated Buick, Chevy, GMC, Oldsmobile, Pontiac and Saturn radios that were approximately 4 3/8 inches tall, starting in 2000. ADDITIONAL INFO Identification of the wires in your vehicle, as well as pin location of those wires in the plug, will be up to you. Yes, research will be required and it may be challenging. GM did not use the same wires for all the vehicles that had this plug, so we cannot provide one plug that is going to have easy-to-determine wire functions for all vehicles. Please do not get frustrated at us for a situation we did not create. (Whoever hacked your original plug off is obviously to blame for this whole situation...) Please do not expect to use all wires in the plug. (Even wires that would typically be used on every aftermarket install.) GM uses their data wire for many different purposes on the radios intended for these vehicles. (Communication, illumination, power delivery, etc.) So you won't find dedicated wires in your vehicle harness for some common things, unlike a typical aftermarket radio's harness. What is important is this plug fits in the original radio and has pigtails coming out of it. Once you identify what a given vehicle wire is for in your vehicle, you merely check a pin-out diagram for your vehicle (not included) and splice it to that wire on our plug. If that concept evades you or seems too daunting, please seek the advice/assistance of a qualified car stereo or car electronics (12 volt) shop. They can knock it out in no time. Please do not blame the plug or the messenger... One other note: Our supplier sometimes casts the plug and/or wires in slightly different colors from those pictured. Obviously that has no impact on use. It DOES plug into factory original radios for all vehicles on the list and it does have wires assigned to the pins you will need to use. But, again, identification of those pin locations in these plugs will be up to you. They can vary from year to year and model to model and option group to option group, so make sure you get a pin-out for your exact year, model, and stereo option package.
