This is a nice old wooden box. The only thing I can think about its origin is that it once held cigars. There are no markings on the box at all. It is a heavier grade wood than I have seen that held cigars but I can't imagine its use. It would be great for a sewing box or your packs of cigarettes. The clasp is a tension type brass like slide.
