Vintage Parrot Brooch Pin 2 Love Birds Branch Sterling Silver Figural Lovebirds Standing Together Nature Avian Birdwatcher Comical Caricature Highly Detailed Textured Three Dimensional 3D Parakeet Tropical Exotic Repousse Style This is an adorable sterling silver brooch or pin depicting a delightful duet or pair of parrots or love birds standing on a branch. The brooch measures approximately 2 inches tall and 1 inches wide. It is marked “STERLING” on the back, but it has not been tested. It weighs .20 ounces on my postage scale, which converts to 5.67 grams. The date and place of origin is unknown. This elegantly crafted parrot brooch has amazing and intricate details; it has individual feathers showing on the wings and the toes of the feet grasping the branch. The parrots look like they are wearing little vests and have so much personality. They remind me of caricatures you would see in a cartoon. The bodies are contoured and not flat, it has a very 3 dimensional feel to it. It is in great vintage condition as you can see by the enlarged photographs. I have not polished this as I did not want to affect the finish or the patina. I will leave any polishing up to you.
